- In 1915, The oceanliner Lusitania is sunk by a German submarine. The one millionth Ford automobile rolls off the assembly line. Germans use poison gas as a weapon. The US unemployment rate is 8.5%.

- In 1919, The 18th amendment is ratified Prohibition adopted. 3/4 of Boston’s police force goes on strike. Race riots erupt in 26 cites across the U.S. The famous Black Sox Scandal as Cincinnati defeats the Chicago White Sox 5 games to 3. Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity is established. The unemployment rate is 1.4%.
